About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Finance Manager to lead their finance operations in Derby . This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including accounting, financial planning, and reporting. You will work closely with senior management to provide financial insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a comprehensive understanding of financial management within a dynamic commercial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the finance department, including accounts, payroll, and treasury.
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support business objectives.
- Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, analysing performance against targets.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Provide financial guidance and support to other departments, fostering financial discipline and understanding.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve high standards of performance and professional growth.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, such as Finance Manager or Senior Accountant.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and management accounting .
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is highly desirable.
