Finance Officer - Non-Profit Organisation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Finance Officer to manage the financial operations of their non-profit organisation in Nottingham . This role is essential for ensuring the financial health and integrity of the organisation, supporting its mission through sound financial management. You will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations specific to the charity sector . This is a key role for maintaining transparency and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Assist with the development and monitoring of organisational budgets.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, charity accounting standards, and audit requirements.
• Support the Finance Manager/Director with financial planning and analysis.

Requirements

• Experience as a Finance Officer or in a similar accounting role, preferably within the non-profit or charity sector .
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting standards relevant to charities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA part-qualified) or equivalent experience.
