About the Role
Our client, a charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals, is looking for a meticulous and dedicated Finance Officer to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is essential for maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. This is a crucial, office-based position requiring accuracy and a strong understanding of financial principles within a charitable context.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and financial transactions of the charity.
- Process payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements for charities.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly.
- Support the Finance Manager and senior management with financial analysis and forecasting.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Finance Officer or in a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience working within the charity sector is advantageous.
