Job Description
Finance Team Leader
My client is looking for an experienced Finance Team Leader to join their busy and expanding business.
We require an autonomous and proactive individual capable of operating efficiently within a fast-paced accounts department. Good organisational skills and a proven ability to lead a small team across daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadlines are essential.
Teamwork is key.
Daily Responsibilities
- Post bank reconciliations (BOS)
- Update cashbook
- Post invoices and overhead invoices to Sage
- Post credit notes to Sage
- Post daily receipts
- Monitor fraud and bad debt; advise accounts on debt collection and issue interest letters for late payments.
Mid-Month Tasks
- Prepare mid-month payments and add to BACS list.
Monthly Responsibilities
- Raise rebate invoices for customers and update marketing schedule in Q drive.
- Close the month end and collate relevant reports.
- Prepare supplier payments from BACS list over a 5-day period.
- Prepare depreciation schedule for all fixed assets, remove fully depreciated assets, and add new ones.
- Monthly VAT reconciliation.
Quarterly Responsibilities
- P11D reconciliation.
- Prepare VAT, file and upload online, post journal, and pull off reports.
- Reconcile VAT budget analysis.
- Pay corporation tax and P11D when required.
Year-End Procedures
- Prepare reports for prepayments for year end.
- Post year-end accountants’ queries to finalize with accountants.

Personal Specification
- AAT Qualified with hands-on accounts experience.
- Experience with data analysis and financial forecasting; knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Experience of working in an inventory-based business.
- Sage experience and leading, overseeing or managing a team.
