Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a meticulous Financial Accountant to become an integral part of their finance department in Coventry . This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and compliance of all financial records, including statutory accounts, tax computations, and general ledger management. You will play a key part in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial activities are accurately reported and adhere to relevant accounting standards. This is an ideal position for a detail-oriented accountant looking to contribute to a stable and reputable organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and reconciled.
• Liaise with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
• Assist in the preparation of VAT, Corporation Tax, and other regulatory filings.

Requirements

• Fully qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA accountant, or equivalent, with significant practical experience.
• Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, including statutory reporting and audit management.
• In-depth knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong organizational skills and a commitment to meeting strict deadlines.
