Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Financial Accountant to strengthen their finance department based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy of financial reporting and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. You will be responsible for a broad range of financial accounting duties, supporting the Finance Manager in delivering timely and reliable financial information. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., FRS 102).
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet items.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process, providing data and analysis.
• Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations and assist with tax return preparation.
• Develop and implement improvements to accounting processes and controls.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Demonstrable experience in a financial accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and UK GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational capabilities.
