Financial Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for a sharp and analytical Financial Analyst to join their finance team in Wolverhampton . This role is central to providing in-depth financial analysis, modelling, and reporting to support strategic business decisions and performance improvement initiatives. You will work closely with various departments to understand their financial needs, interpret data, and present actionable insights. This position requires a proactive individual who can contribute to financial planning and strategy within an office-based team, fostering a data-driven approach to business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
• Analyze financial performance, identifying key trends, variances, and business drivers.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads.
• Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to evaluate business opportunities, risks, and investment proposals.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance function.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in a Financial Analyst or similar role, demonstrating strong analytical skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables, macros) and financial modelling.
• Experience with financial software or ERP systems is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting concepts, and business strategy.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly.
