About the Role

Our client seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead their finance operations based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This senior position is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. You will play a crucial role in financial planning, risk management, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of financial management principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the daily operations of the finance and accounting departments.
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of all financial statements and regulatory filings.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Provide financial guidance and support to senior management and department heads.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant UK financial regulations and accounting standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior accounting role.
• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification is essential.
• Expertise in UK GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting .
• Strong knowledge of taxation and corporate finance.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
