Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Financial Controller to lead their finance function. This is a fully remote position, allowing the successful candidate to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This senior role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of financial strategy, controls, and compliance. You will play a pivotal role in guiding the company's financial direction and ensuring robust financial health in a dynamic, remote working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting department, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS/UK GAAP.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
• Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls and risk management procedures.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking institutions.
• Drive process improvements and leverage technology to enhance financial operations efficiency.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with extensive post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience in a senior financial management or controller role.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, strategic planning, and budget management.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and risk management.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Experience managing teams and driving change within a remote or distributed workforce.
