Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead their finance department in Wolverhampton , operating on a hybrid work model. This senior role is responsible for managing all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. You will play a critical role in providing financial insights to guide strategic decision-making and ensure the company's financial health and compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Develop and manage the annual budget process, providing variance analysis and forecasting.
• Establish and maintain robust internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering professional growth.
• Support strategic planning initiatives with financial analysis and modeling.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Experience working in a hybrid or dynamic office environment.
