About the Role
Our client seeks an experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance department in Birmingham . This senior leadership position is responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning, risk management, and compliance. You will be instrumental in driving financial performance, implementing robust financial controls, and providing strategic guidance to the executive team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong leadership background, a deep understanding of corporate finance, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of financial integrity. Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the company's long-term goals and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and providing professional development opportunities.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, and manage external audits.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing effective internal controls and recommending improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including banks, investors, and regulatory bodies, maintaining strong relationships.
Requirements
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record in financial management and leadership, preferably within a similar industry.
- Extensive knowledge of financial accounting principles, management accounting, corporate finance, and UK financial regulations.
- Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and ERP systems.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
