Financial Controller
- altrincham, england, United Kingdom
- Contract·Hybrid
- £37 - £62 Per Hour
Job Description
This is not your average Financial Controller role.
If you enjoy variety, solving problems and becoming a trusted adviser to ambitious SMEs, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
We're exclusively partnering with a fast-growing professional advisory business looking to appoint a Fractional Financial Controller. Rather than working for one organisation, you'll become the embedded FC across a portfolio of growing businesses, helping these businesses improve reporting, strengthen controls and make better commercial decisions.
No two days are the same. One day you'll be improving financial controls and reviewing management accounts; the next you'll be sat alongside an MD discussing strategy, cashflow and growth plans.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as the Financial Controller across a portfolio of SME clients.
- Producing and reviewing management accounts, balance sheets and month-end reporting.
- Strengthening financial controls, processes and compliance.
- Reviewing work produced by junior finance staff.
- Providing meaningful commercial insight to business owners and directors.
- Helping businesses bring structure to fast-paced, evolving finance functions.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or an experienced QBE.
- Has ideally operated at Financial Controller level within SMEs.
- Is technically strong and enjoys getting into the detail.
- Is a self-starter who can quickly assess situations and add value with minimal direction.
- Thrives in changing environments and isn't fazed by businesses that are still developing their finance processes.
- Builds credibility quickly and enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders.
Experience within outsourced finance, accountancy practice or interim/contract assignments would be highly advantageous.
What’s on offer:
- Salary up to £62,000pa.
- Hybrid working with travel to client sites across Greater Manchester (typically 2 days per week).
- Genuine variety across multiple sectors and businesses.
- Clear progression within a growing corporate advisory.
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays, birthday off and up to 3 duvet days.
If you're looking for a role where you'll genuinely influence businesses rather than simply report the numbers, we'd love to hear from you.
