About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance function in Cambridge . This senior role is responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and internal controls. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, drive process improvements, and provide strategic financial guidance to the leadership team. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Develop and manage the annual budgeting process.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior accounting management role.
- In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant financial regulations.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
