Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned and strategic Financial Controller to lead their finance department in Liverpool . This senior role will be responsible for the overall financial health of the organisation, including financial planning, risk management, and reporting. You will oversee the accounting team, ensure compliance with all financial regulations, and play a key role in shaping the company's financial strategy. This is a critical leadership position for a dedicated finance professional seeking to make a significant impact within a growing enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the company's accounting and financial operations.
• Develop and implement financial strategies and policies to support business objectives.
• Manage the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including HMRC and Companies House.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive post-qualification experience.
• Proven track record in a Financial Controller or senior finance management role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS) and company law.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in financial management software and advanced analytical capabilities.
• Experience in risk management and internal controls.
