About the Role
Our client seeks a diligent and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations within their Cardiff office. This senior position is integral to providing strategic financial direction, ensuring robust internal controls, and driving financial performance. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated finance team and work closely with departmental heads to achieve organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the finance department, including accounting, payroll, and financial planning.
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support business growth.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including UK tax legislation.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance management role.
- Strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and corporate governance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Experience working within the UK financial landscape is essential.
