Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance department in Reading . This senior role will oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. You will be instrumental in ensuring the financial health and integrity of the organization, providing strategic financial guidance, and driving efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/UK GAAP.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP) and tax regulations.
• Proven experience in managing teams and implementing financial systems.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel .
