Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Financial Controller to lead their financial operations in Glasgow . This role is integral to managing the company's financial health, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance within the Banking & Finance sector. You will oversee accounting functions, manage financial reporting, develop internal controls, and support budgeting and forecasting processes. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal financial controls to safeguard assets.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads.
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with a strong academic background.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting and financial management, ideally within financial services .
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and relevant financial regulations.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
