About the Role

Our client requires an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations for their business in Newcastle upon Tyne . This senior position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, managing accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with all regulations. You will be instrumental in implementing financial strategies, improving internal controls, and providing critical financial insights to the executive team. This role demands a proactive leader who can manage a team and drive financial excellence in a fast-paced commercial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Oversee the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Drive process improvements and implement best practices in financial management.

Requirements

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with substantial experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
• Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems.
• Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate an accounting team.
