Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Financial Controller to lead their finance function in Stoke-on-Trent . This senior role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management. You will be instrumental in providing critical financial insights to support business strategy and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all financial accounting operations, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant standards.
• Develop and implement strategic financial plans, budgets, and forecasts in alignment with company objectives.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Provide financial analysis and strategic advice to senior management to support decision-making.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive post-qualification experience.
• Proven track record as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance leadership role.
• Deep understanding of financial reporting frameworks (IFRS/UK GAAP), tax regulations, and corporate finance.
• Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in financial management software and advanced analytical tools.
