Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of their organization in Sheffield . This senior role is responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, develop and maintain internal controls, and provide strategic financial insights to support business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), and the ability to drive financial efficiency and compliance within a hybrid work environment. This position is key to maintaining the financial health and stability of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering professional growth and high performance.
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or ACCA qualification is essential.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles, with at least 3 years in a controller capacity.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Experience with internal controls and audit processes.
