About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance function in Wolverhampton . This senior position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls within the banking sector . You will provide strategic financial leadership, drive efficiency, and ensure the company's financial health and compliance. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership capabilities and a comprehensive understanding of financial regulations and best practices, contributing to the organisation's growth and stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and regulatory reports.
• Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic financial insights.
• Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and banking relationships.
• Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence.

Requirements

• ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Significant experience (5+ years) in a senior financial management or controlling role.
• In-depth knowledge of financial accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
