Financial Controller

Job Description

Iconic Resourcing is recruiting an experienced Financial Controller for a well‑established SME manufacturing business in the Stirling area.

Reporting directly to the Board, you will be the key financial lead for the business.

Produce monthly management accounts with clear commentary on business performance, trends and variances.
Take ownership of all financial statements, forecasts and reports, ensuring a consistently high standard of accuracy.
Run the monthly payroll process, including commission calculations and all HMRC and pension submissions.
Manage quarterly VAT returns and maintain compliance with applicable financial regulations.
Coordinate the year‑end audit, prepare relevant documentation and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Partner with department heads to support budgeting cycles and forward financial planning.
Identify and report on variances and trends, turning data into insight that supports sound commercial decision‑making.

Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA or CIMA) preferred; candidates qualified by experience with a proven track record in a similar senior finance role will also be considered.
Experience within manufacturing or a related sector would be advantageous.
Strong working knowledge of Sage Line 50, Sage Payroll and Excel.
Ability to present financial information clearly and confidently at Board level.
Detail‑oriented self‑starter comfortable taking ownership within an SME environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Commercial mindset with a proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
