Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations for their growing business based in Glasgow . This critical role involves managing accounting functions, ensuring financial compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing audits, and developing internal controls to safeguard company assets. This position requires a meticulous professional with strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of financial management within the vibrant Scottish business landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Develop and implement robust internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Manage cash flow, financial planning, and budgeting processes.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent professional qualification.
• 5+ years of experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in a similar industry.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS and taxation.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
