About the Role

Our client seeks a highly accomplished Financial Controller to lead their financial operations on a remote basis, overseeing functions from Belfast . This senior position demands strategic financial leadership, responsibility for financial reporting, compliance, and the development of robust internal controls. You will play a crucial role in shaping the company's financial strategy, managing risk, and ensuring the integrity of all financial data. This is a leadership role for an experienced finance professional who excels in a remote-first culture, driving financial excellence across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, reporting, and compliance.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to mitigate risk.
Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Provide strategic financial advice to senior management to support business objectives.

Requirements

Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive post-qualification experience.
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
In-depth knowledge of UK financial regulations , accounting standards, and tax laws.
Strong leadership and team management skills, ideally with experience managing remote teams.
Proficiency in financial management software and advanced analytical tools.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
