About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations in their Belfast office. This leadership role is critical for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, managing financial planning and analysis, and maintaining robust internal controls. You will be responsible for leading the finance team, driving financial strategy, and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations. This is a key position for a seasoned finance professional looking to make a significant impact within a reputable organisation in Northern Ireland .
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP).
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department managers to align financial plans with strategic objectives.
- Manage the external audit process and ensure all audit requirements are met efficiently.
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management, supporting key business decisions.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience (5+ years) in a financial control or senior accounting role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience in managing and developing a finance team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
