About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Financial Controller to oversee their financial operations in Wolverhampton . This senior position is responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. You will play a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity and efficiency of the organization, providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. This is a key leadership role within the banking and finance sector, offering significant impact and a hybrid working arrangement that balances office leadership with remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Develop and manage the annual budget process, providing variance analysis and financial forecasts.
- Establish and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and profitability.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial control or management accounting role, preferably within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and UK financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information effectively to diverse audiences.
