Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance function in Nottingham . This key role involves overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organization, providing strategic financial insights to support business growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take ownership of the financial operations within a respected company in the East Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/UK GAAP.
• Develop and manage the annual budget process, and monitor financial performance against budget.
• Establish and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
• Oversee cash flow management and treasury functions.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in a financial control or management accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
