About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations for their company based in Wolverhampton . This senior role demands strategic financial planning, robust accounting practices, and efficient management of the finance team. You will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations. This is a key leadership position within the finance department, contributing significantly to the company's financial strategy and operational efficiency in the West Midlands .

Key Responsibilities

Manage and direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts, monitoring performance against targets.
Oversee cash flow management and treasury operations.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management and accounting roles.
Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Experience with financial software systems and ERP implementation is advantageous.
