About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Financial Controller for a fully remote position, supporting operations across the UK, with a nominal connection to Bristol . This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial integrity of the company, driving financial planning, and providing essential insights to senior leadership. This is a senior-level opportunity for a finance leader who thrives in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Develop and manage the annual budget and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) functions, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
- Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external auditors.
- Drive process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master's degree and/or professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is essential.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a controller or similar senior role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting standards.
- Strong experience with ERP systems and financial software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex financial operations and lead teams in a remote environment .
