Job Description
We are currently partnering with a Housing Association in London, who are recruiting for a Finance Controller to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
Our client is a leading veterans' housing charity, providing high-quality homes and dedicated support to ex-service personnel and their families.
This is a full-time position with a salary band of £65,000 to £70,000 (subject to experience) and the start date is subject to notice.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Lead the financial control function, overseeing statutory accounts, audit, treasury, cash flow, VAT, tax and balance sheet management
- Ensure robust financial controls, governance, compliance and risk management across the organisation
- Produce accurate management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial reporting to support strategic decision-making
- Business partner with senior stakeholders, providing financial insight and support across operational teams
- Deputise for the Finance Director, presenting financial information to Executive, Board and Committee meetings when required
- Lead, develop and motivate a small finance team, driving continuous improvement and high-quality financial operations
Experience required:
- Experience of financial system administration, data integrity management and system improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, accounting standards/regulations, policies, or good practice related to the role
- Experience of working to deadlines and managing competing priorities
- Experience of working in a regulated or public - facing organisation/ environment
- Has demonstrable experience of a full statutory audit cycle
- Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety or compliance frameworks relevant to role
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) or qualified by experience with demonstrable experience of a full statutory audit cycle (5 years post-qualification)
Working hours:
- 35 hours per week
- Hybrid working – up to three days per week working from home
