About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial operations at their prominent establishment in Southampton . This senior position is responsible for managing accounting functions, financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting processes. You will play a critical role in strategic financial planning, ensuring the company's financial stability and compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with strong leadership qualities, adept at driving efficiency and accuracy in all financial activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Develop and manage the company's budget, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Oversee the external audit process and liaise with independent auditors.
- Provide financial guidance and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Significant experience (7+ years) in financial management and accounting roles, including supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS and financial regulations.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to manage complex financial operations and drive process improvements.
