About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to oversee the accounting operations based in Coventry . This role offers a hybrid working model, combining office-based work with the flexibility of remote days. You will be responsible for leading the finance team, managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place. This is a pivotal role for a proactive leader who can drive financial efficiency and support the company's growth objectives within the West Midlands region, while contributing to a forward-thinking financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Develop and manage the annual budget process and financial forecasts.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of all financial statements and management reports.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Analyze financial data to provide strategic insights and support decision-making.
• Manage banking relationships and cash flow effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with significant post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance leadership role.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and UK tax laws.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
