Our client is a well-established and highly regarded brand across the Northwest, with a strong market presence and multiple operating sites. Backed by Private Equity and entering an exciting phase of continued growth, the business is now looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to support its ambitious plans. This is a commercially focused role offering the opportunity to work closely with the senior leadership team and Private Equity stakeholders, with significant responsibility for internal financial controls, management information, development of commercial acumen and M&A activity.
The Role
As Financial Controller , you will take responsibility for the financial control and reporting across the business, while developing the management information and commercial insight required to support future growth. A key focus will be to establish a structured, data-driven management information framework, using data and reporting tools to provide clear and accessible information to senior management and the wider business. Key responsibilities will include: Taking ownership of internal financial control and reporting processes across a multi-site operation Present the monthly reporting pack at board level and investor level Responsible for the statutory reporting and all HMRC requirements Developing a robust and structured management information and KPI framework Establishing clear reporting around ROI and return on investment Developing reporting to identify and monitor customer trends, behaviours and profitability Developing commercial dashboards and reporting for senior management and Private Equity stakeholders Providing detailed analysis of site-level performance, profitability and KPIs Working closely with operational teams to understand and improve business performance Supporting the continued development and expansion of the group's operations Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting Playing a key role in M&A activity, including financial due diligence, acquisition modelling and post-acquisition integration Supporting the financial integration of newly acquired businesses Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability and return on investment
About You
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, with PQE qualifying experience Previous experience within a Private Equity-backed environment Proven experience working within a multi-site organisation Strong M&A, acquisition and integration experience A track record of developing management information and commercial KPIs Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn financial and customer data into meaningful commercial insight Experience analysing customer trends, profitability and ROI Excellent technical accounting and financial reporting skills Strong commercial awareness and understanding of operational performance Power BI experience would be desirable, but is not essential The confidence to work with senior management, operational teams and PE stakeholders A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity to join a strong and well-recognised Northwest brand at an exciting stage of its development.
