Financial Crime Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and analytical Financial Crime Analyst to join their team in Sheffield . This role is essential in detecting, investigating, and preventing financial crimes, including money laundering, fraud, and terrorist financing. You will utilize sophisticated monitoring systems and apply your keen eye for detail to identify suspicious activities and ensure the organization's compliance with anti-financial crime regulations. The position is based in our central Sheffield office, promoting direct collaboration and team synergy.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor financial transactions for suspicious activity using specialized software and alert systems.
• Investigate potential financial crime incidents, gathering evidence and documenting findings.
• Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for submission to relevant authorities.
• Conduct customer due diligence (CDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) checks.
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial crime prevention policies and procedures.
• Stay informed about emerging financial crime typologies and regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Law, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in financial crime prevention, AML, fraud investigation, or compliance.
• Good understanding of anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) regulations.
• Proficiency in using financial monitoring tools and databases.
• Strong analytical, research, and investigative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
