Financial Crime Compliance Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and analytical Financial Crime Compliance Analyst to join their dedicated team in Norwich . This office-based role is crucial for safeguarding the institution against financial crime, including money laundering, fraud, and terrorist financing. You will be responsible for monitoring transactions, investigating suspicious activities, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This is a vital position within the Banking & Finance sector, requiring a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the financial system.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor customer accounts and transactions for suspicious activities indicative of financial crime, such as money laundering or fraud.
• Conduct thorough investigations into potentially suspicious activities, gathering and analyzing relevant data.
• Prepare detailed Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and other necessary regulatory filings.
• Assist in the implementation and testing of anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) programs.
• Stay informed about evolving financial crime typologies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external law enforcement agencies as required during investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Criminology, Law, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in financial crime compliance, AML, fraud investigation, or a related field within financial services .
• Solid understanding of AML/CTF regulations and typologies.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using transaction monitoring systems and investigation tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings clearly and concisely.
