VP Financial Crime Lawyer – Sanctions | London

Our client, a leading global bank, is seeking a Vice President level lawyer to join its Financial Crime Legal team.

The team provides strategic, commercially-focused legal advice on AML/CTF, sanctions and anti-bribery & corruption issues across the bank's businesses worldwide, and is a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on complex, high-profile matters.

This role sits within the team as a sanctions specialist.

• You will advise on transactions, products and new business initiatives with sanctions touchpoints, help shape policy positions, and provide credible challenge to business and control decisions.
• You will support engagement with regulators and government bodies, contribute to management information on emerging sanctions risks, and work closely with senior legal leadership across the region.

Candidate Requirements

• We are looking for a qualified lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister, Attorney or equivalent) with a strong advisory background from private practice, government or in-house, and demonstrable sanctions expertise.
• Comfort in advising senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, regulated environment is essential.
