    About the role

    We are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join our team based in Cardiff. This Fire Alarm Engineer position offers the opportunity to work on a single site throughout the year as part of an established fire protection team, carrying out service, maintenance, commissioning, and remedial works across a range of gaseous fire suppression and fire alarm systems.

    As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service while working both independently and alongside experienced colleagues. This Fire Alarm Engineer role involves working with systems including IG55, FM200, Novec 1230, CO2, and fire alarm panels, ensuring systems remain compliant and fully operational.     Key responsibilities

    • Service, maintain, and undertake minor repairs to fire alarm systems.

    • Support the delivery of work across multiple fire protection disciplines including sprinklers, deluge systems, foam systems, fire extinguishers, and fire doors.

    • Accurately record service activities, job timings, and all relevant documentation using company provided systems.

    • Identify system faults and deficiencies, providing clear reports and recommendations.

    • Act as the main point of contact on site, delivering a professional customer experience.

    • Comply with all QEHS requirements, risk assessments, method statements, and company procedures.

    • Support and mentor less experienced team members where required.

    Skills and experience required

    Essential

    • Carry out planned preventative maintenance, routine servicing, and remedial works on gaseous suppression systems including IG55, FM200, and CO2 systems.

    • Proven experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems.

    • Good understanding of current fire suppression standards, legislation, and industry best practice.

    • Experience working within a customer focused service environment.

    • Full UK driving licence.

    Desirable

    • FIA, BAFE, manufacturer training, or other relevant industry qualifications.

    • Previous experience servicing and maintaining gaseous suppression systems including one or more of IG55, FM200, Novec 1230, or CO2.

    •Experience commissioning gaseous suppression systems.
