Fire and Security Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a technically proficient Fire and Security Systems Engineer to enhance their installation and maintenance team serving Edinburgh and the surrounding regions. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of advanced fire detection, alarm, and security systems. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' premises, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of current industry standards. You will work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver reliable system performance and exceptional customer support.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV, and access control systems.
• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on installed security and fire systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in fire and security systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Conduct system audits and provide recommendations for upgrades or improvements.
• Ensure all installations and maintenance activities comply with relevant British Standards and industry regulations in Edinburgh .

Requirements

• Experience in the installation and maintenance of fire and security systems (intruder alarms, CCTV, access control).
• Knowledge of various manufacturers' equipment and industry standards.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in electronic security or fire systems.
• Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills for client liaison and technical reporting within the Edinburgh area.
