Fire and Security Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a specialist in integrated safety solutions, is looking for an experienced Fire and Security Systems Engineer to join their team, offering a remote work option with servicing requirements in the Plymouth area. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and servicing of advanced fire detection, alarm, and security systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of clients' premises through reliable system performance. The position requires technical proficiency, a proactive approach, and the ability to work autonomously.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and intruder detection systems.
• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and fault finding on a wide range of security and fire systems.
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions and provide timely and effective repairs.
• Ensure all installations and maintenance activities comply with relevant British Standards and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate service records and client documentation.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients on system operation and maintenance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the installation and maintenance of fire and security systems.
• Knowledge of BS 5839, BS 7671, and relevant EN standards for fire and security systems.
• Experience with leading manufacturers' equipment in CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
• Strong understanding of networking principles as applied to security systems.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• A clean driving license and willingness to travel to client sites in and around Plymouth .
