Job Title: Fire Alarm Service & Maintenance Engineer

Location: Essex (Regional Patch)

Salary: £38,000 basic + Overtime & Call-Out (OTE up to £55,000+)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer based in Essex to carry out routine servicing, maintenance, fault-finding, and small remedial works across commercial and residential sites.

This role offers a competitive basic salary of £38,000, with plenty of overtime and on-call availability allowing realistic earnings of £50,000 – £55,000+ per annum.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive servicing on conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.

Diagnose faults, conduct testing, and complete remedial repairs in accordance with BS 5839 standards.

Complete small works, device replacements, and commissioning where required.

Ensure accurate reporting, asset tracking, and compliance sign-off via digital work-order tablets.

Participate in an on-call rota (with standby allowance and enhanced call-out rates).

Requirements

FIA Qualifications (Units 1, 4, 5 or equivalent modular certifications).

Demonstrable experience servicing and maintaining addressable and conventional fire alarm systems (e.g., Advanced, Morley, Kentec, C-TEC).

Solid understanding of British Standards (BS 5839-1).

Full UK Driving Licence.
