About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair operations for their diverse fleet of vehicles in Southampton . This pivotal role involves ensuring the optimal condition, safety, and compliance of all vehicles, minimizing downtime, and managing associated costs. You will lead a team of mechanics and support staff, implementing efficient maintenance schedules and strategies to support the company's operational needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for the entire fleet.
• Manage and schedule all repair work, ensuring vehicles are serviced and roadworthy within agreed timelines.
• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians and mechanics.
• Control maintenance budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations pertaining to fleet operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, or a related managerial role.
• Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics, maintenance procedures, and fleet management software.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
• Knowledge of HGV/LGV regulations and compliance is a significant advantage.
