About the Role
Our client, a large logistics company with a significant fleet operating out of Plymouth , is seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Technician . This vital role ensures the optimal performance and safety of their diverse vehicle fleet, encompassing trucks, vans, and specialized equipment. You will be responsible for scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile technician to contribute to a critical operational function within a reputable organization in the automotive and logistics sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles, including HGVs and light commercial vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues across a range of vehicle types.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and software to identify faults and ensure accurate repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and manage parts inventory effectively.
- Ensure all fleet vehicles comply with relevant safety regulations and legal requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fleet Maintenance Technician or HGV Mechanic.
- Relevant qualifications in vehicle maintenance and repair (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Strong diagnostic skills and experience with heavy vehicle systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- A valid UK driving license is essential; HGV license preferred.
