About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Fleet Manager to lead their extensive vehicle fleet operations, based remotely. This critical role involves overseeing the maintenance, compliance, safety, and operational efficiency of a diverse fleet of vehicles. You will be responsible for developing strategies to optimize fleet performance, reduce costs, and ensure all vehicles meet regulatory standards. This is a remote-first position, ideal for a skilled manager who can effectively manage a distributed team and complex operations from any location, leveraging technology and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, licensing, and insurance requirements.
• Manage driver schedules, route planning, and dispatch operations to optimize delivery routes and minimize downtime.
• Monitor fuel consumption and implement strategies to reduce costs and environmental impact.
• Lead and mentor a remote team of fleet coordinators and drivers, fostering a culture of safety and performance excellence.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a senior logistics/transportation management role.
• Strong understanding of fleet maintenance, vehicle compliance, and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage remote teams and operations effectively.
• Proficiency with fleet management software and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, essential for managing suppliers and remote staff.
