About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Fleet Operations Coordinator to join their busy transport team in Liverpool . This role is essential for managing the day-to-day operations of their delivery fleet, ensuring vehicles are well-maintained, routes are optimized, and drivers are effectively scheduled. You will be responsible for the smooth functioning of the fleet, coordinating with drivers and mechanics to minimize downtime and maximize delivery efficiency across Merseyside. This position demands excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, working within a dynamic depot environment to support our client's logistics network and uphold high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily fleet activities, including vehicle scheduling, dispatching, and driver assignments.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and liaise with mechanics to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and compliant.
- Track vehicle locations and delivery progress using GPS and fleet management software.
- Maintain accurate records of fleet usage, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance history.
- Assist in managing driver schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and adherence to working hours regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a fleet coordination or logistics support role.
- Understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements and transport regulations.
- Proficiency in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication skills for interacting with drivers, management, and external suppliers.
