About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Fleet Operations Manager to join their team in Derby . This role is essential for managing and optimizing the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring efficient transportation, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for vehicle maintenance scheduling, driver management, route planning, and ensuring the fleet operates safely and reliably. This hybrid role allows for effective management of on-site operations while offering flexibility through remote work capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company fleet, including scheduling, dispatching, and routing.
• Develop and implement strategies for vehicle maintenance, repair, and replacement to minimize downtime and costs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, licenses, and insurance requirements.
• Manage driver performance, conduct training, and enforce safety protocols and company policies.
• Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, and other key fleet performance indicators.
• Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to ensure efficient fleet utilization.

Requirements

• Proven experience in fleet management or a similar role within logistics or transportation.
