FMCG Product Development Technologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and innovative FMCG Product Development Technologist to join their busy product development team based in Milton Keynes . This role is integral to the creation and refinement of new and existing products within the fast-moving consumer goods sector. You will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from concept generation and formulation to pilot trials and scale-up, ensuring products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Working hands-on in a laboratory and production environment, you will contribute to bringing exciting new products to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new product formulations and processes from bench-scale to pilot plant and full production.
• Conduct product testing and sensory evaluations to ensure quality and consumer acceptance.
• Optimize existing product formulations to improve performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
• Collaborate closely with the R&D, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product launches.
• Ensure all product development activities comply with relevant food safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during product development and scale-up.

Requirements

• Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Experience in product development within the FMCG industry .
• Strong understanding of food chemistry, processing techniques, and quality control principles.
• Proficiency in laboratory procedures and equipment operation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
