FMCG Warehouse Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced FMCG Warehouse Operations Manager to lead their distribution center in Reading . This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, logistics, staff supervision, and ensuring operational efficiency and safety standards are met. You will be responsible for optimizing warehouse processes, managing a team of warehouse staff, and implementing best practices in the fast-moving consumer goods sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in warehouse management and a commitment to operational excellence, driving the success of our client's logistics in the Reading area.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Ensure accurate inventory management, including regular stock takes and cycle counting.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse staff to achieve performance targets.
• Implement and enforce health and safety regulations within the warehouse environment.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and suppliers.

Requirements

• Significant experience in Warehouse Management , preferably within the FMCG industry .
• Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and complex warehouse operations.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control systems, WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), and logistics software.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to upholding strict health and safety standards.
• Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
