About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and meticulous Food Safety Officer to ensure the highest standards of food hygiene and safety across their catering operations in Nottingham . This critical role involves conducting regular inspections, developing and implementing safety protocols, training staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. Your expertise will be vital in safeguarding public health and maintaining the reputation of our catering services.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits and inspections of kitchen facilities, food storage, and preparation areas to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Develop, implement, and update food safety management systems, including HACCP plans.
• Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff on food hygiene practices, safe handling of food, and legal requirements.
• Investigate any food safety incidents, such as contamination or breaches of hygiene, and implement corrective actions.
• Stay abreast of changes in food safety legislation and best practices, advising the management team accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, and corrective actions undertaken.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Food Safety or Food Science (e.g., CIEH Level 4 or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Food Safety Officer , Food Hygiene Inspector, or in a similar compliance role.
• In-depth knowledge of UK food safety legislation, HACCP principles, and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain detailed documentation in Nottingham .
