Priority Football Ltd delivers high‑quality football coaching to children in a fun, safe and engaging environment. We are looking for a dedicatedPre School – Year 1 Lead Coach to take ownership of our youngest age group across weekly sessions and school holiday camps in the Nailsea & Backwell area.
The Role
You will lead football sessions for children inPre School to Year 1 , creating a positive first experience of sport. You will be themain responsible coach for this age group , including being the primary point of contact for parents and carers at sessions.
During school holiday camps, you will act as thelead coach for the Reception and Year 1 group , again taking responsibility for both the children in your group and communication with parents.
Working Hours
Weekly sessions (all year round):
You are paid from 30 minutes before each session starts:
- Monday: 4:30pm – 6:00pm (1.5 paid hours)
- Wednesday: 4:30pm – 6:00pm (1.5 paid hours)
- Thursday: 4:45pm – 6:00pm (1.25 paid hours)
- Saturday: 8:30am – 10:30am (2.0 paid hours)
Total: 6.25 paid hours per week.
School holiday camps:
- Approximately48 camp days per year
- Each camp day:8.25 paid hours
- You will be thelead coach for the Reception and Year 1 group on these days.
Pay
- Weekly sessions:up to £15.00 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications
- Holiday camps:up to £14.00 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications
There is also the potential, for the right candidate, to agree afixed annual salary split over 12 months , based on the agreed hours and rates above. This can be discussed at offer stage.
Holiday
- You will beentitled to paid holiday in line with UK statutory requirements for part‑time employees.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver fun, age‑appropriate football sessions for children inPre School – Year 1 .
- Act as theresponsible lead for this age group , ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Be themain point of contact for parents and carers at drop‑off and pick‑up, communicating clearly and professionally.
- Set up and pack away equipment, arriving 30 minutes before each session.
- Lead theReception and Year 1 group during school holiday camps.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive and positive environment for all children.
- Keep accurate registers and follow all safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
- Work effectively with other coaches and staff, and liaise with management when any issues arise.
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience working with young children (ideally ages 3–6).
- Confident leading groups and managing behaviour positively.
- Strong communication skills with parents and carers , including the ability to explain what the children have been doing, raise any concerns appropriately, and represent Priority Football professionally.
- Friendly, approachable and professional manner.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Willing to undertake anenhanced DBS check .
- Willing to completesafeguarding andfirst aid training (if not already held).
Desirable
- FA or other recognised football coaching qualifications.
- Paediatric First Aid.
- Experience in clubs, schools or holiday camps.

Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
