About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and investigative Forensic Accountant to join their specialist team in Edinburgh . This challenging role involves investigating financial irregularities, fraud, and disputes, providing expert analysis and evidence in legal and regulatory proceedings. You will be responsible for examining complex financial data, tracing assets, and quantifying financial losses. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner, both in written reports and oral testimony. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations into allegations of fraud, financial misconduct, and corruption.
- Analyse complex financial transactions, accounting records, and digital evidence.
- Quantify financial losses and damages in commercial disputes and litigation.
- Prepare detailed forensic accounting reports and expert witness statements.
- Assist legal counsel in case strategy and provide evidence in court as an expert witness.
- Identify and trace misappropriated funds and assets.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with specialized experience in forensic accounting or fraud investigation.
- Proven experience in investigating financial crime, disputes, or litigation support.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent report writing skills and experience in giving expert testimony.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and forensic accounting software.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage sensitive investigations discreetly.
